Velocity Lapse Privacy Policy
Effective March 16th, 2026
Velocity Lapse is a time-lapse app for Android. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use Velocity Lapse (“The App”, “App”). I (the developer, Noah Rahm) want to be transparent with you on how Velocity Lapse handles Android permissions and your personal information. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at hi@velocitylapse.com.
By using the App, you accept this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions. Do not continue to use the App if you do not agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions.
REQUIRED PERMISSIONS
The App requires Android permissions to access and use some of your device’s hardware in order to function properly, including: camera, read and write storage, foreground service, and wake lock. All images and videos captured/produced with the App stay on your device unless you voluntarily use the share function to share with someone else.
INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE
I collect information within any messages and feedback you send to me (such as feedback, surveys, and emails) or publicly post (such as in Google Play Store reviews, feedback, or forums).
Data can be shared when you submit feedback (via a web-view in the App) or click a link opening a page of this website (in a web-view). This may include your email, device information and/or any other information you include.
Information collected is used for improving the App, fixing bugs, and/or notifying you of future App updates.
The App uses Revenue Cat, a third-party service, to provide in-app purchase(s). Via Revenue Cat, the App collects purchase history. Data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with any other party. You may request that this data be deleted by contacting the above email. Read Revenue Cat’s Privacy Policy for details.
Since Velocity Lapse v1.6.7, the App only enables crash reporting and debug information if the “Send crash and debug information” setting is ON. By default, it is OFF.
If the setting is ON, the App uses Embrace.io, a third-party service for anonymous crash reporting and debug information. Via Embrace, the App collects OS information, region, App version, platform version, device properties, CPU, memory, battery, network connectivity, App lifecycle, App events, crashes, and logs. Data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with any other party. Read Embrace’s PII Policy and Privacy Policy for details. When assisting you with debugging an issue in the App, I may request that you enable this setting temporarily. This information is used exclusively for monitoring, replicating, and fixing bugs in the App.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not send any personal information about yourself. If I, the developer, learn that personal information from a child under age 13 was collected, I will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided personal information, please contact me at hi@velocitylapse.com.
UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
I may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. You should periodically check this page for updates to this policy.
